Welcome — this presentation walks you through logging into Ledger Live and the essential first steps to secure your hardware wallet, synchronize accounts, and start managing crypto assets. Each slide uses semantic headings (H1–H5) and clear steps, so you can copy the HTML for a quick interactive guide or paste it into a web-friendly slide deck.
Ledger Live is the official companion application for Ledger hardware wallets. It provides a user-friendly interface to view balances, send and receive coins, manage apps on your device, and access decentralized applications safely. Beyond convenience, Ledger Live places strong emphasis on private key security: keys never leave the hardware device, and sensitive actions must be confirmed on-device.
Always download Ledger Live from the official Ledger site or a trusted app store.
Visit the official Ledger website and choose the Ledger Live download for your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux, or mobile via the app store). Run the installer and follow on-screen prompts. On first run, Ledger Live will ask whether you have an existing device or need to set up a new one.
Verify the download site's SSL certificate and check for official Ledger branding. Never install unverified third-party Ledger builds — spoofed software can capture your recovery phrase.
Connect your Ledger hardware device to the computer via the supplied cable. Unlock it using your PIN. In Ledger Live, choose the option to connect a device — the app will detect the connected hardware and request confirmation for pairing and later for each transaction.
If the device is not detected, check cable quality, try alternative USB ports, and ensure the device screen is unlocked and the latest firmware is installed.
Ledger Live itself does not store your recovery phrase. Login commonly refers to unlocking your Ledger device (PIN) and opening the app. If you set a Ledger Live password, treat it as a local lock and not a recovery — it cannot restore your funds if lost. Always have your 24-word recovery phrase stored offline and offline-only.
Never enter your recovery phrase in any software or website. Ledger employees will never ask for your 24-word phrase.
Use Ledger Live to add accounts for Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other supported blockchains. Go to the "Accounts" tab, click "Add account", pick the currency, and follow the on-screen instructions to synchronize. Ledger Live reads public addresses from the device — it will not expose private keys.
Add only accounts you intend to use immediately to keep the interface tidy; you can add more later without risk.
To receive, tap the receive button, select the account, and verify the address on your Ledger device screen. Always confirm that the address displayed in Ledger Live matches the address on-device before sharing it to avoid address manipulation by malware.
When sending, enter the amount, review fees, and confirm the details on your device. Ledger Live will show transaction preview but the final approval must be done on the hardware device.
Ledger uses an on-device app model. Through Ledger Live's Manager you can install apps (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon) that allow the device to interact with those blockchains. Firmware updates are occasionally released — follow prompts in Ledger Live and confirm updates on-device.
Before updating firmware, ensure you have your recovery phrase safely stored and avoid interruptions (don’t unplug during update).
Ledger Live integrates with partners for swapping and staking inside the app and provides links to decentralized apps via a secure connection. Always review partner URLs and when connecting a dApp, confirm actions on the device before approving.
You can export transaction history and generate CSV reports for accounting or office use. For official documentation and downloads, visit Ledger's official site or open Microsoft Office online to store or present exported reports.\p>
Issues typically include connectivity, outdated firmware, or mistaken addresses. Keep Ledger Live up-to-date, verify addresses on-device, and never disclose your recovery phrase. For unresolved problems, check Ledger's official support center or community forums for step-by-step guides.
